The BCSO Officers
The BCSO Officers are chosen in yearly election by the BCSO members. The current officer positions are chair, vice chair, secretary, and treasurer. The BCSO also elects subcommittees for further development of other aspects of the organization.
Kimberlee Burckart, BCSO Chair
Kimberlee received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Iowa and joined UTMB in 2009 and works in Dr. Darrell Carney's laboratory.
Paige Spencer, BCSO Vice Chair
Paige's undergrad was B.S. in Chemistry at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She joined UTMB in 2009 and works in Dr. Jose M. Barral's laboratory.
Levani Zandarshvili, BCSO Treasurer
Levani graduated from Tbilisi State University with Bachelor of Science in Physics. He joined UTMB in 2009 under the Molecular Biophysics Educational Track (MBET). Levani works in Dr. Junji Iwahara's laboratory.
Rahul Pal, BCSO Secretary
Rahul received his Master of Science in Biochemistry from the Calcutta University and joined UTMB in 2010 and works in Dr. Jose M. Barral's laboratory.
Dr. Lavanya Rajagopalan, Faculty Advisor
Dr. Lavanya Rajagopalan is currently the faculty advisor of the Biological Chemistry Student Organization (BCSO).
She has been of great help not only as an advisor, but also as our advocate among faculty.
